![]() Of course, any DF fan could tell you this isn’t true. Granted, Inhuman Rampage WAS an unapologetic shredfest, but every album before and since has had a distinct sound. Sure, there were long guitar solos but they’re also a fucking metal band, it would be kind of weird if there weren’t. Compare Valley of the Damned to Maximum Overload and you’d swear they were different different bands. That’s exactly what’s kept DF fresh and what rankles me about the samey stigma they carry they’ve evolved and each album is completely distinct from the others. They experiment, and even if it doesn’t always work at least they don’t keep trying to make The Song over and over. With Vadim Pruzhanov’s recent departure, Herman and Sam are the only original members left DragonForce is an almost completely different band. Even so, newer songs like Highway to Oblivion are unmistakably DragonForce. ![]() ![]() If their last two singles are any indication, this new album could be one of their best yet. ![]()
